Musical art

today for the musical of the arts.
What we did first was: Do some Drama games. They were really fun and silly. After that we went onto singing! We did some warm ups, chilled and had fun. After that we sung this song called "The Circle Of Life" If you want to sing or hear it play the video below. I had fun doing this today I can't wait until the next time we do it!

Finding Drinking Water

Finding Drinking Water

Purpose:

I want to be able to turn salty ocean water into drinkable water

Research:

Making Ocean Water Drinkable by King of Random

Bottle Distillation by Nighthawk Light

Aim:

I want to find out how to separate the salt from the salty water.

Equipment:

• two empty beer bottles
• bunsen burner
• salt water
• stand and clamps
• metal tray pans
• Sand
• damp rag

Method:

1. Put some salt water into a empty beer bottle be able to turn it on its side with out the water coming out.
2. Put one pan above the bunsen burner and the other the same height 
3. Put sand in the trays 
4. put the bottles firmly in the sand
5. wet the sand with the bottle in the not above the flame and put the damp rag on the bottle
6. turn on the fire on
7. wait about 15 minutes

Prediction:

it will lose most of the water

Results:

It worked!

What does kaitiakitanga mean in our words:

Today we are learning about Kaitiakitanga, Kaitiakitanga means guardianship which is meaning in our own words: A Team group or even a guard guarding a spot and place like a forest or a garden so they can look after what is important for themselves and other people around us.

Why a garden or a forest?

• Those places can or could have fruits and veges and food for them.
• They could watch nature which is important.
• The people could love guarding or they could of put something special in that place.
• Or the places the are guarding gives them memories about loved ones in some stories.
• The places should have heaps of trees plants and oxygen to breathe in.

How it relates to us at home:

• Looking after the environment 
• like cleaning your bed before you go to school. 
•   looking after siblings and parents.

Method:

• First: We put soil in the egg cartons
• Second: We put a whole in each carton
• Third: We put a seed in each of the cartons
• Fourth: We covered the seeds with a little bit of soil
• Fifth: We watered each carton and put it in the sunlight

How to be safe on Science

Aim: I want to find out how to be safe in Science

.Equipment: Bucket, Detergent, Cold Water, Tube, Gas tap, Safety glasses, lighter.Method:

1. Get a Bucket. 

2. Put in a good squirt of detergent. 

3. Fill half the bucket with cold water. 

4. Take your loose clothing off, pull your sleeves up, if you have long- tie it up. 

5. Connect a tube up to the gas tap and put the other end into the water. 

6. Turn on the gas and make some bubbles. 

7. Put safety glasses on. 

8. Wet your hands and wrists up to your elbows. 

9. Get a scoop of bubbles. 

10. Hold the bubbles away from your face.

Beaker

Beaker there are four sizes of beakers for you to use on your lad desk-beaker hold solids or liquids.very poor accuracy - should only be used to sentiment   

Erlenmeyer flask use-Erienmeyer flasks holds solids or liquids that may release gases during a reaction or that are likely to splatter if stirred or heated

funnel

a funnel is use to aid in the transfer of liquids from one vessel to another. and will hold filter paper while filtering. it may be glass or plastic.    

test tube holder

a test tube holder is useful for holding a test tube which is too hot to handle  

test tubes

test tubes are used to mix chemicals. and also to heat chemicals.

reaction plates

reaction plates are used when we want to perform many small scale reaction at one time.it is like having lots of test tube available at one time.

pipe stem

the pipe stem triangle is used as a support for crucibles when being heated over a lad burner. it can be also used to support a funnel when filtering.  

Scissor Tongs

an instrument or tool used for picking things up without touching them with hands or fingers

spatula

spatula are used to transfer solid chemicals never insert a spatula directly into a reagent.

graduated cylinder

a graduated cylinder is used to more accurately measure volumes or liquid (probably your best everyday measuring tool) there are three sizes in your.

Bunsen burner are used for heating nonvolatile liquid and solids.

My Way Of Answering Questions faster

Today me and my class was learning about how to use Chromebooks faster and look at shortcuts in math equations after that we got to do our own screencastify and here it is hope you enjoy.

MIss Elley shared us a side show, in the side show there are six side and we have to fell them up, i hope you like it  

Today my group and i made more of the Mini notebooks for the market day. i think tomorrow we might finish it. The lack of chating is still going on but we think and we know we can finish this on time. All we have to do is make a few more notebooks, draw the faces on the notebooks and make a poster for our stall on the 5th of July. We hope your school can go to our market day.

Business and Enterprise Reflection #5

For my our market day my group and I decided to make mini and large notebooks for market day.  I hope you will be free to come if you are it will be on the 5th of July. We know we can work hard on this till July the 5th. We need to just work as a team and get this done fast if we want students, to buy these mini notebooks. Hope you like the adverb poster!

Business and Enterprise Reflection #4

So here are my 4 questions today:

And here are my 4 answers for today:

- We are learning to work as a team and making mini notebooks for the year 7 and 8 market day.
- By helping and giving ideas in the team to make these mini notebooks awesome.
- I achieve making the coloring paper mini notebooks and almost the plain big paper notebooks.
- Finishing our notebooks and less talking.

The last 13 or 14 weeks we have been looking at all the layers of the Earth. There are 3 spheres: the Hydrosphere, Biosphere and Geosphere. My favourite one is the Hydrosphere. Then the last week the teacher told us to make a thinglink about all the layers of the earth. So here is my thinglink!
