Today we are learning about Kaitiakitanga, Kaitiakitanga means guardianship which is meaning in our own words: A Team group or even a guard guarding a spot and place like a forest or a garden so they can look after what is important for themselves and other people around us.
Why a garden or a forest?
- Those places can or could have fruits and veges and food for them.
- They could watch nature which is important.
- The people could love guarding or they could of put something special in that place.
- Or the places the are guarding gives them memories about loved ones in some stories.
- The places should have heaps of trees plants and oxygen to breathe in.
How it relates to us at home:
- Looking after the environment
- like cleaning your bed before you go to school.
- looking after siblings and parents.
Method:
- First: We put soil in the egg cartons
- Second: We put a whole in each carton
- Third: We put a seed in each of the cartons
- Fourth: We covered the seeds with a little bit of soil
- Fifth: We watered each carton and put it in the sunlight
