Novel study - character paragraph - Ellie

 One of the important moments for Ellie is When she returns home to a different world. After a camping trip in ‘Hell’ Ellie and her friends arrive back to empty homes. She is scared and confused by the fact that everyone is gone. She becomes distraught when she realizes that her dogs have been attacked.  This is a key moment because Ellie realizes that there might be a war on. The impact of this moment is the realization that something very serious has taken place. This moment shows the reader that Ellie is understanding that something larger has begun. Ellie’s reaction makes the reader think about war and invasion and how we would react in similar circumstances.

in instance a quote stated by Ellie had gave me a clue that she finally went into realistion

Ellie and her friends came back to where they used to call it they're "home" was a whole different world, as sated by Ellie in pg 78-9“At that stage I still hadn’t come to terms with what had happened. That's not surprising. We knew so little. All we had were clues, guesses, surmises” she finally went in to reality and realidng putting every clue together. realized that

Marshmallow catapult shooter

AIm: to make a marshmallow shooter and work out what forces are acting on it.

Equipment: paper cup, scissors. ballon, marshmallow 

method:

1. cut out the bottom of the cup.
2. cut off the neck of the ballon 
3. stretch the open end of the balloon over the bottom of the cup 
4. pull ballon back to the fire marshmallow 

result: 

I cut myself while trying to cut the bottom of the cup. 

the bollon we got was a bit tight so it was harder to put in to the bottom of the cup. 

over all it worked out pretty well at the end, m=the marshmallow went pretty far 

discussion?:

when the marchamallow was in the cup all the forces ( thrust. firction. gratvity and support) were even as it wasn't moving
