=Propaganda=

What is it?
Information that gives a bias opinion (one opinion or fake news (one side of the story.)

Where do we see it?
  • Video from the capital
  • The games itself is propaganda
  • All the tributes are trying to put out propaganda (bias opinions)

Real Message
  • You have fought back once and lost
  • How we can kill your children and there is nothing you can do about it

Propaganda Message
  • It is not a bad thing
  • If you want, you will be a hero to your district
  • The boy and girl in the film big, strong, healthy fit (look like adults)
  • How they remember their past
  • Don’t give detail ‘why’ there was a revolt
  • Played every year (Gale mocks it)

Key Vocab
  • Honor
  • Glory
  • Eliminated
  • PeaceKeeper

Rich and Poor

Rich = Capital
  • The amount of food
  • Costuming is extravagant
  • Bright colours
  • Modern Architecture
  • Everything is controlled in the Capital - no nature
  • Materials - Stone, Marbel, Metal.
  • Technology

Poor = District 12
  • People were starving
  • Dull colours
  • Costuming - wearing ‘best’ clothes they have
  • Stereotypes
  • Small and Sickly Kids - Don’t have a chance in the Hunger Games
  • Old Houses/shacks
  • Need repair
  • Dirty
  • Paint peeling off the houses
  • Like the older days (District 12 is in the past and the Capital is based in the future)
  • One good building

  • Materials - Mostly wood
